My mama heart fills with so much gratitude as we are slowing down, and cultivating time together. One of the things I have found so sweet about this season and our rhythms, is winter themed sensory play.

Something that I love about hygge, is the connection and memories you create, while making something together. These sweet moments have been an important part of our simple days at home, and have nurtured connection so beautifully.

HOMEMADE SNOW
I LOVE how simple this recipe is!
INGRIDIENTS:
- Baking soda
- Cornstarch
- Water
- Essential oil of choice (optional) – not only does this support emotions and wellness, but the more senses you bring to a moment, the stronger a memory will be later in life!
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Take a 1:1 ratio of baking soda + cornstarch (we did 1 cup of each)
- Mix them together
- Slowly add a little water at a time, until you can squeeze it in to a “snowball”
- Add in a few drops of Essential oil
Add more baking soda + cornstarch, if the mixture becomes too watered down

Gray LOVED playing with the snow, and the way it felt! He has never been around real snow before, and asks about it a lot, so this was really fun for us! The best part is how he asked: “Mama, come play?” as he was enjoying it so much! I love this age, and how he wants me to be a part of the things that bring him joy. I pray that he always has a heart for us to do things together, and any time he asks me to play with him, I am intentional with telling him yes. I realize how special it is for him to invite me in, the way that he does, and I am so thankful for these moments we have together.

Thank you Lord for motherhood, and time with Gray that I will forever cherish!
