It is officially December, which means the start of our simple, intentional, cozy holiday (Hygge Holiday)!
I LOVE how hygge gives a feeling of cozy contentment, while showing gratitude through simple pleasures, and connecting deeply with loved ones. It has so much intention behind it, and when we talk about the culture of our family, and what we want it to be, hygge is the word that comes to mind for us.
Each day starting December 1st, Gray has an envelope to open. Inside is a card that has a simple activity for us to do together as a family, that we can slow down and nourish our family culture with, being intentional and finding true joy in the season. Saying no to things that don’t matter, so that we can say yes to what does.

In the end, what we have left is: the memories we created together, the connection we made, and the traditions we cultivated.
Here is how I am gifting Gray his cards this year –
I set out our tray and on it, I put:
-
- Our handmade mugs. We drink foam together daily in these mugs, to take time to simply be. I have those waiting for us to start our morning with.
- I have a Christmas book sitting on the tray, ready for us to cozy up, and read first thing, as we drink our foam together.
- Then there is the envelope! Gray LOVES mail and letters, so I wanted it to be like mail each day. Inside is the card that has our gift of being together, with the activity for that day on it. There is also a Jesse Tree advent card inside, as we will be going through that as well!

I pray that as the years go by, the gift of our simple + intentional holiday activities bring a beautiful tradition of togetherness and focusing on what truly matters for our family this season. I pray that it gives us deep connection as a family, and brings us closer to the Lord through it, focusing on Jesus and his birth!

I will be sharing our Hygge Holiday on my Instagram, if you want to follow along (click here)! You can look at my stories daily, and I will be saving it to my holiday highlights, as well!
