One year… how has it been one year? This entire year has been an absolute blessing and the best year or my life. The best part is honestly being settled down and living normal life, but by my best friend’s side. I am beyond thankful and am so excited for this second year and every year that is to come!
I wanted to share our day and enjoy reliving it all over again!
There is so much I want to say and novels that could be written about it all. Instead of making this blog post a novel, I will attach a couple links so you can go read about our story when you have time. It all started here and ended up with a beautiful engagement here.
Our vision for the day was to have something intimate and personal. We had only our immediate family there and 3 very close friends and that was it. We wanted it to be us and something that represented our lives and relationship and that it was! It was a celebration of our marriage and starting our lives together and it could not have been any more perfect! Our photographer Kurt Boomer and cinematographer Lunch Pail Pictures did an absolutely incredible job capturing our day and telling our story for us! We will forever cherish what they have captured!
It has been two and a half beautiful years and John is my dream come true. The Lord has given us an incredible gift and I am so thankful for this life he has blessed us with. This is just the beginning of something amazing!
and now for a very long highlight of our day (you may want to go grab a nice cup of coffee)
I have been writing letters to my husband since 2009. Even though I did not know who he was, I would journal letters to him. Once John and I started dating, I also started a separate journal to write our journey in that to him as well. I saved all our movie stubs, vacation items, tickets to places we went like the zoo and when our wedding arrived, I had a legacy box made with our names on it (the same way it was written on our wedding invitation) and a letter engraved underneath the lid for our wedding day. I placed all of these items in to this box. It also has room for fine art prints from our wedding and things we collect along the way in our future as we create memories together. We want to have a legacy for future generations to one day find. We both cried like babies as I presented it to him (I did the ugly cry a few times throughout the day).
We wanted to do something representing our unity, so we chose to plant a tree together. This represented the deep roots of our relationship and the continued growth of our love, as we became one.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made our day so beautiful! My mama was the most amazing person ever (and always is) she did so much to make this day perfect and I will forever cherish that.
